Botox & Neuromodulator Treatments
treatment overview
The gold standard of wrinkle relaxing treatments
At Dream Esthétiques MD, neuromodulator treatments with Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and Letybo® temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity to soften expression lines, including forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet, while maintaining natural facial movement.
Available at our Old Montreal clinic and Laval clinic, each treatment is tailored to your facial anatomy, muscle activity, skin characteristics and aesthetic goals. A clinical assessment helps determine the appropriate treatment areas and approach, with informed guidance focused on balanced, natural-looking results.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR TREATMENT
What Is Botox?
Botox Cosmetic® is a prescription injectable treatment containing onabotulinumtoxinA, a type of neuromodulator that temporarily reduces targeted muscle activity. By decreasing repeated muscle contraction in selected areas, Botox can soften the appearance of certain expression-related lines.
Lines can become more visible over time as repeated facial movements cause the skin to repeatedly fold. Neuromodulator treatment works by temporarily reducing the muscle activity contributing to these movements.
What Is a Neuromodulator?
Neuromodulator is the broader term used for injectable treatments that temporarily reduce activity in specific muscles. Botox Cosmetic® is one neuromodulator, while Dysport®, Xeomin® and Letybo® are other products in this treatment category.
These products are separate treatments and are not simply interchangeable. Product selection and treatment planning depend on the area being treated, individual anatomy, muscle activity and the goals discussed during your assessment.
Botox Cosmetic®
A prescription neuromodulator used for selected facial lines and other approved cosmetic indications.
Dysport®
A neuromodulator option that may be considered according to the treatment area and individual assessment.
Xeomin®
Another neuromodulator option that may be considered as part of an individualized treatment plan.
Letybo®
A neuromodulator option that may be considered when appropriate for the individual’s treatment plan.
Who Can Consider Botox Treatment?
Botox may be considered by adults who want to address specific expression-related lines or other concerns that may respond to targeted muscle treatment. Suitability depends on individual anatomy, muscle activity, medical history, treatment goals, and the area being considered.
A consultation is important because not every line or facial concern is primarily caused by muscle activity. An assessment helps determine whether a neuromodulator approach is appropriate or whether another treatment may better address the concern.
- Adults concerned about expression-related facial lines
- Patients considering temporary treatment for selected dynamic lines
- Patients interested in targeted treatment rather than treating the entire face
- Patients seeking an individualized approach based on facial anatomy and movement
What Can Botox Treat?
Botox Cosmetic® is used for specific cosmetic concerns associated with muscle activity. Common aesthetic treatment areas include forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet, and selected neck concerns.
Forehead Botox
Targets muscle activity associated with horizontal forehead lines while considering brow movement and facial balance.
Frown Lines
Addresses vertical lines between the eyebrows that become more noticeable with repeated facial expression.
Crow’s Feet Botox
Targets lines around the outer corners of the eyes that become more visible during smiling and facial expression.
Masseter Botox
Targets the masseter muscles along the jaw when muscle prominence or activity is part of the concern being assessed.
Neck Botox
May be considered for selected concerns involving prominent muscle activity or visible vertical bands.
Forehead Botox
Forehead Botox can temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity associated with horizontal forehead lines. Treatment planning considers forehead movement and brow position so the approach is appropriate for the individual.
Frown Line Treatment
Frown lines appear between the eyebrows as specific facial muscles repeatedly contract. Neuromodulator treatment can temporarily reduce activity in these muscles and soften the appearance of expression-related lines.
Crow’s Feet Botox
Crow’s feet Botox addresses fine lines around the outer eye area that become more noticeable with smiling and other facial expressions. The surrounding anatomy and muscle movement are considered when planning treatment.
Masseter Botox
Masseter Botox targets the masseter muscles along the jaw. Treatment may be considered when muscle prominence or activity contributes to the concern being addressed. Facial structure, muscle development and individual goals are assessed before treatment.
Neck Botox
Neck Botox may be considered for selected concerns involving muscle activity and visible vertical bands. Because the neck has complex anatomy, suitability and treatment approach should be determined through an individualized assessment.
Is Botox Right for Every Type of Wrinkle?
No. Botox primarily addresses concerns in which targeted muscle activity contributes to the appearance of lines. It does not address every cause of skin ageing or every type of wrinkle.
Skin texture, volume changes, pigmentation, collagen changes and other factors can also contribute to facial ageing. Depending on the concern, a treatment such as dermal filler or another aesthetic approach may be more appropriate.
Why Is an Assessment Important?
A personalized assessment helps distinguish concerns related to muscle movement from those that may have other contributing factors. Your provider can evaluate facial movement, anatomy and the area you want to address before recommending an appropriate treatment approach.
- Assessment of facial anatomy and muscle activity
- Identification of appropriate treatment areas
- Discussion of your aesthetic goals
- Review of relevant medical and treatment history
- Explanation of realistic treatment expectations
- Individualized treatment planning
Botox in Montreal: Personalized Treatment Planning
If you are searching for Botox Montreal treatment, the right approach starts with understanding your individual concerns rather than selecting treatment based only on a specific facial area.

About the process
01.
How do they work?
Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and Letybo® contain botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily reduces nerve signals to selected muscles. This limits the repetitive contractions that contribute to dynamic wrinkles, allowing the skin to appear smoother while maintaining natural facial expression.
02.
What to expect
A series of small injections is performed using a fine needle — most patients describe the sensation as a brief, mild pinch. Treatment generally takes 15–30 minutes, and most patients can return to their regular daily activities right after the appointment.
03.
Results
Initial changes may begin within a few days, with the effect becoming more visible within 7–14 days. Results commonly last three to four months. Treatment is planned for a subtle, natural-looking result rather than changing your facial identity or eliminating all movement.
04.
Aftercare
Temporary redness, mild swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur at the injection sites. You may be advised to avoid pressure or massage over treated areas, intense physical activity and significant heat exposure for a period following treatment.
